Customer Rating: Summary: A flavorful, exotic roast not marred by charring Comment: Because I take my coffee black I prefer a mild to medium roast. This medium blend K-Cup falls on the milder side of the roasting spectrum when brewed in the large size. Milder, though, does not mean lacking in flavor.
On the contrary, because this Guatemalan blend has not been overly roasted one can taste more complexity than with a darker blend. Present here are notes of cocoa and cinnamon wrapped in a barely discernable sweetness. This blend is my new choice for my Amazon Subscription.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good, but not what I'd hoped Comment: I have typically found Guatemalan coffee to have a very "earthy" flavor. I am not a coffee expert or snob (even though I just said "earthy"), but that's my best description of what I expected. I usually like a little more sugar and the slightest bit more cream in this variety. These K-Cups did not have the body I expected (there I go again - like I even know what "body" means). Even on the mug setting the Guatemala K-Cup did not pack a punch. I am used to the larger settings still having a bold flavor.
It's certainly not a bad coffee, but it wasn't what I expected after brewing pots of Peet's or Starbuck's Guatemalan.
